Erik Knoester is a seasoned executive with a 15-year track record in fraud management for the travel industry. Currently serving as a Risk Solution Consultant at Visa's Cybersource, he drives growth, delivers strategic solutions, and manages airline accounts.
Before his current role at Visa, Knoester held the position of Fraud Manager at Transavia and was the first member, later Chairman, of the Steering Committee at Perseuss in Amsterdam for a decade. He is known as a strategic thinker with an in-depth understanding of the fraud landscape. His colleagues often refer to him as Sherlock, a testament to his passion for investigating fraud trends and catching fraudsters. His extensive network within the travel industry has been instrumental in apprehending fraudsters over the years.
Knoester earned his financial bachelor's degree from Hotelschool The Hague. He also serves as a Visa Pride ERG Lead in Spain. Born in Spain and raised in Peru, he is multilingual, speaking Spanish, Dutch, English, and German fluently. He has a fondness for Peruvian food and enjoys travel.
